Why raw?
Jane and Meg at The Eating More Raw Company aims to introduce you to the benefits of eating a higher percentage of raw, organic food in your diet. We believe that the more plant-enzymes we can take in the easier it is for our digestive system to absorb the nutrients we need. We are aiming for 80% raw and 20% anything else - we do love our little glasses of wine - but whatever raw stuff we can manage is a bonus. If it can be organic then that is the best.
Evolution happens very slowly and our bodies were designed to digest raw food so have difficulty with the cooked and very processed foods that many of us eat today. We need to eat a lot because our bodies cannot recognize the elements in the cooked food and so we are 'hungry' for real nutrients.
Benefits include
Improved health - eating raw foods has been found to help overall health and vitality. Specific everyday benefits include, improved energy levels, a stronger immune system thereby reducing chances of disease, sharper concentration, feelings of calmness, clearer skin, sparkly eyes and glossy hair - plus much more which we will leave you to discover for yourselves!
Weight loss - people on high percentage raw food diets are more likely to move to their optimum weight.
Smaller quantities of food needed – because the cells in the body are getting the nutrients they need more immediately, you will feel fuller more quickly and stay that way for longer.
More energy – because natural foods release their energy slowly, blood sugar levels remain stable without any significant dips which can make you feel tired or lethargic. This is particularly beneficial for sportsmen and women who can enjoy a sustained release of energy throughout their activity and don't feel the need for a high sugar supplement when they stop exercising.
Detox - people starting to eat a higher level of raw food will go through a detox as their bodies release the toxins built up through eating a standard western diet.
